After having secured a thrilling Super-Over win in the final One-day International of the three-match series against Pakistan, Zimbabwe captain Chamu Chibhabha is confident of his side putting up a strong show and possibly beat the home side in the upcoming three-match Twenty20 International rubber.

Chibhabha, during the press conference on Friday, said that Zimbabwe’s mentality coming into this tour was to win as many games as possible irrespective of the format they play.

“As I said when we arrived in Pakistan, as a team we want to be winning more matches. It doesn’t matter what format it is, we want to play the brand of cricket that wins us matches. That is our mentality. I said, in the last match that we won, that we were the better side. We all believe that. Now it is up to us to execute that on the field in order to get the results that we want. We honestly believe that we are a better team and that we are capable of winning the T20I series,” Chamu Chibhabha said.

Zimbabwe put up a spirited show in the One-day International series. After running Pakistan close in the first game courtesy a brilliant hundred by former skipper Brendon Taylor, the African nation finally turned the tables in the last match thanks to a brilliant hundred by Sean Ervine and a five-wicket haul by Blessing Muzarabani.

Chamu Chibhabha reckoned that the result was a consequence of the immense self-belief that Zimbabwe as a team have in themselves.

“It just goes to show that if you come in as a team, you believe in yourself then you can achieve anything. The attitude in the camp is about winning games, no more excuses. That is what we are focusing on,” he said.

The three-match T20I series will take place on November 7, 8 and 10 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
