India skipper Virat Kohli was a delighted man as India dismantled West Indies by seven wickets in the third T20I to clean sweep the three-match series. The Men in Blue came up with their most impressive performance on the tour so far to blow away the hosts.

Bowling first, India restricted West Indies to 146 for 6. Deepak Chahar was the destructor-in-chief early on as he sent back Evin Lewis, Sunil Narine and Shimron Hetmyer inside the fourth over to leave West Indies reeling at 14 for 3. A 66-run stand between Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard stopped the rot before the former fell to Navdeep Saini.

Pollard went on to score 58  while Rovman Powell played a quickfire knock of 32 to  helpWest Indies post a respectable total. But the score was just not enough for West Indies to challenge India. India lost their openers – Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul early –  but fifties from Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant saw them cross the finishing line with ease.

Speaking at the end of the game, Virat Kohli was all praise for his team’s clinical performance. He particularly praised the bowlers.

“Very clinical performance. We set out to get the results that we wanted and we’ve achieved that. Deepak stepped up today. I think all the bowlers were on the mark. This was a much better wicket that what we saw in Miami. Very similar to Bhuvi, his (Deepak Chahar) skill with the new ball is right up there. That’s been his USP in the IPL as well,” said Virat Kohli.

Kohli further talked about Pant, saying that the team is looking at him as the future. Pant has been facing criticism after failing to deliver in the first two T20Is. Kohli urged others not to put too much pressure on the youngster.

“We are looking at him (Rishabh Pant) as the future. He’s got a lot of skill and lot of talent. It is about giving him some space and not putting too much of pressure. He’s come a long way since he’s started. We want to be professional as a side. Looking forward to some fun in the ODIs and Tests as well,” said the India captain.
