We Believe That We Are Going To Win The IPL: Rishabh Pant

Delhi Capitals star Rishabh Pant has said he and his teammates are determined to win the title in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

Along with Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals are one of the only three teams to have never won the Indian Premier League. In fact, they are the only side which has never made it to the final of the competition. In eleven seasons thus far, they progressed ahead of the league stage just thrice and are yet to reach the final. Their last play-off appearance came way back in 2012. Since then, they have not managed to finish above sixth.

Last year, they had another turbulent outing. They had to change their skipper midway through the season after veteran Gautam Gambhir decided to step down following only one win in the first six games. Shreyas Iyer then led the side to four more wins but the national capital-based team still finished at the bottom of the table.

Well, Rishabh Pant is now determined to put the team’s horror show in past and guide it to title this year. The hard-hitting batsman, who was the second highest run-scorer in the last edition, said that Delhi Capitals are a good combination of youngsters and experienced players before stating that the players are confident of winning the title.

“I am looking forward to making a winning contribution. This year, the Delhi team is a good combination of youngsters and experienced players. Youngsters have the energy, and experience is equally important. We have the right mix. This season, we believe that we are going to win, for the fans and for our team. We can give them the trophy this year,” Pant told Sportstar.

This year’s IPL, meanwhile, will start on March 13. However, the BCCI is yet to announce the full schedule.
