Ever since Wriddhiman Saha had an injury on his shoulder, the replacement Rishabh Pant cemented his place in the Test side with a brilliant performance in overseas Tests. However, now, the Indian team once again went back to the services of Saha. The skipper also confirmed that Saha is the first prefered player in Indian conditions.

Rishabh Pant achieved quite a few rare records during the overseas series against England and Australia. However, since then, he hardly performed for the team, which made a huge impact. Now, the Indian National Cricket Team asked Rishabh Pant to stay away from the playing XI, as Saha is doing well behind the stumps.

“There’s nothing (mentoring) like that. We just discuss normally the way the wicketkeepers discuss. With Sridhar and Pant, we three jointly decide on how to go about our wicketkeeping on a particular type of wicket,” he said.

He quoted that they will point the mistakes of each other to rectify it as quickly as possible. Off late, we came across Saha standing behind Virat Kohli in the net sessions. Speaking of the same, he believes those things will definitely help him in the match.

“We always observe each other’s wicket-keeping. We work hard in our practice sessions and have a good understanding and co-ordination among ourselves. We always try to point out each other’s mistakes. It’s been going well so far,” he said. I was just trying to have a feel of the bounce off the wicket. So I stood behind Kohli. It definitely helps.”
