After whitewashing West Indies across formats, India are all set for South Africa challenge. The visitors will have a new T20I captain in the form of Quinton de Kock. India, who lost the previous T20I series held in 2015 at home, this time looks favourite to register a series win.

India skipper Virat Kohli too has his sight set on the series as he has said that the team wants to go out and win, no matter home or away – any format.

“We want to win every game. Whether we play at home, away, any format, we just want to go out there and win. Nowadays it is about your mindset, if you think as Ravi bhai has said in the past, every condition can be home condition, if you feel comfortable,” Kohli said on the eve of T20I series.

India have a strong squad for the series. Jasprit BUmrah, who has been rested for the T20I series, is not a part of the team but with Deepak Chahar making most out of the limited chances, he will also pose a tough challenge for the visitors.

Navdeep Saini

Apart from him, Navdeep Saini will also test South African batsmen with his pace. In the spin department, the absence of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav provides Rahul Chahar and Washington Sundar another opportunity to strengthen their case for the T20I World Cup.

Ravindra Jadeja and Kruna Pandya, with their all-round skills, are confirmed to get a place in the playing XI right from start of the series.

The three matches will also see the comeback of Hardik Pandya. The 25-year-old all-rounder was rested for the complete series against West Indies. He is back for T20I series but wasn’t included in the Test squad.

The three-match T20I series kicks off tomorrow with the first match to be played in Dharamsala. The next two matches will be played on September 18 and 22 in Mohali and Bangalore, respectively.
