West Indies squad have been banned from training in New Zealand after a few of their players breach the quarantine. The visiting team have asked to remain in hotel after breaching multiple rules. According to media reports, New Zealand health authorities used CCTV to capture rule-breaking from the Windies players, including sharing meals and mingling in groups.

West Indies players and support staff passed their initial two COVID tests, allowing them to train at Lincoln University together, away from the Christchurch hotel they’ve called home for the past 12 days.

New Zealand cricket issues statement on West Indies team in Managed Isolation

NZC was yesterday made aware that some members of the West Indies team had contravened protocols within the Managed Isolation Facility in Christchurch. These incidents included some players compromising bubble integrity by sharing food, and socialising in hallways.

There is no evidence, or suggestion, that any members of the touring party left the facility, or that any unauthorised persons accessed the facility. NZC is supportive of the Ministry of Health and Government position.
