After a shocking end to their ICC World Cup 2019 campaign, India will hope for a winning start to their month-long away series as they face West Indies in the three-match T20I series starting from August 3 (Saturday) in Florida.

West Indies are one of the strongest sides when it comes to the T20I format. They have included senior cricketer Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine which will strengthen their team in the series against India. Young wicket-keeper batsman Anthony Bramble has earned a maiden call-up to the side that also includes Khary Pierre and John Campbell. This team has a good mixture of youth and experience, which will be crucial for the team from the Caribbean Islands.

India, on the other hand, will look to settle their combinations in this format with the ICC World T20 almost in a year’s time. The series also presents opportunities for young guns like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and a few others to cement their spots in the national side. Besides, the bowling attack is also relatively young who will be keen to make grounds in international cricket.

Date and Venue: West Indies vs India, August 3 (Saturday), 8:00 PM IST, at  Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill in Florida

Toss Report

India skipper Virat Kohli has won the toss and elected to bowl first against West Indies in Florida.

Here is what the captains said,

Virat Kohli

We will bowl first. This wicket has been under covers so there might be a bit of moisture and it’s gonna get flater with more sun on it. It is always good to get on the park. Teams have moved on, first few days were difficult when the tournament was going on. But you accept it and life goes on. We are pretty fine now had a good exciting fielding session the day before and everyone is excited to take the field now. Chahar brothers are not playing.

Carlos Brathwaite

We would have bowled first too because of the same reasons. We are building, looking forward to the T20 World Cup. Hopefully, we will peak in the World Cup.
