West Indies bounced back in style after India got off to a swashbuckling start to restrict them at 167 runs in the second T20I international at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida. 

Virat Kohli changed his plans and opted to bat first after winning the toss citing that the wicket has lost all its moisture. India retained his winning combination for the second T20I while West Indies came in with once change. Khary Pierre came into the playing XI in place of John Campbell while Carlos Brathwaite spoke about Sunil Narine‘s promotion to the top of the batting order. The Men in Blues got off to a good start courtesy Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan.

Dhawan although looked uncomfortable but hanged in there with Rohit Sharma to add 67 runs for the first wicket. Rohit once again looked in scintillating touch taking on the West Indies bowlers to the cleaners. In the process, team India’s vice-captain leapfrogged Chris Gayle to be the batsman with the most sixes in T20I cricket. India skipper Virat Kohli joined Rohit in the middle as they lead the scoring chart convincingly.  Rohit Sharma scored yet another half-century to lead India’s batting.

But West Indies bounced back in style with back to back wickets to restrict the free flow of runs. Oshane Thomas and Sheldon Cottrell led the fightback to have India at 114 for one to 143 for five. But Krunal Pandya struck a few six to post a challenging total of runs at the end of 20 overs.
