With 1-0 up in the series, India will look to keep their winning run going and clinch the series beating West Indies in the third and the final ODI on August 14 (Wednesday) at the Port of Spain in Trinidad. After a washout in the first game, the Men in Blues won the second ODI convincingly beating them by 59 runs by DLS method.

West Indies have struggled due to weaklink in their middle order. The batters have failed to raise their hand and put scores on the board which have hurt the host badly. Head coach Floyd Reifer also urged the middle-order batsmen to show more intensity as West Indies look to square things off in the last tie. The bowling, on the other hand, has been good with Sheldon Cottrell leading the pack but needs backing from the batting unit to finish on the winning side.

For India, so far they have looked clinical in their approach and will hope to finish the limited-overs on a winning note. The matured knock of Shreyas Iyer will be a massive bonus for Virat Kohli & Co as the former will aim to show more consistency to cement his spot. The management will ponder with Rishabh Pant as his tenacity of getting out playing rash shots is hurting India’s batting. The young wicket-keeper batsman has his task cut out if he hopes to fill in the big shoes of MS Dhoni.

Match Prediction

India and West Indies have produced some outstanding matches in the past, keeping the spectators firmly seated on the chairs. Although the host went down in the last game without fighting, but they have the capability to bounce back strongly.

However, with confidence and experience on their side, India looks like the favourite to walk away with the game and the series. Virat Kohli & Co will look to finish the series on a high and move to the Test series which also mark the beginning of India’s journey in the World Test Championship.
