ToggleEngland star Jofra Archer is at it again! Once again a tweet from the England fast bowler has gone viral on social media after Ravi Shastri retained his India head coach post. Shastri pipped Tom Moody and Mike Hesson to retain the post. His new contract will come to an end after the World T20I in 2021.

Former India captain Kapil Dev-led panel Cricket Advisory Committee conducted the interviews of the shortlisted candidates at the BCCI headquarters on Friday. Kapil Dev said that the top three finishers were Shastri at No. 1, Hesson at No. 2 and Moody at No. 3.
‘We had a marking system and all three of us were unanimous in our decision with mark that these were the results,” Dev told the media after the day-long coach interviews
“Shastri’s term will be till 2021. We didn’t take any inputs from skipper Virat Kohli, if we did that then we would have to take the inputs from the entire Indian team,” the former India captain added.

Jofra Archer, nonetheless, knew it all along. Archer’s tweets during this World tournament regarding some of the outcomes of the matches had gone viral. The Barbados-born allrounder had a tweet for nearly everything that happened during the showpiece even in England which the hosts won. And Archer had a tweet for Ravi Shastri’s appointment too.
As the cricketing world was reacting on Shastri’s appointment, an old tweet of Archer resurfaced where he seemingly expressed his surprise with Ravi, tweeting:
“Why Ravi?”
Why ravi?

Shastri, meanwhile, was the front-runner to bag the job. In his just-concluded tenure, Shastri helped India win 11 Tests (played 21, lost seven). Under his tenure, India have been on the top of ICC Test rankings although they lost Test series in South Africa and England. During this period, India won 44 of their 61 ODIs and made the semifinal of the 2019 World Cup. They also won 25 out of the 36 T20Is during this phase.
