The mega auction ahead of IPL 2021 is looking like a big possibility as the BCCI is planning to introduce new teams to the tournament. According to media reports, the Indian cricket board would release the tender for the new teams after Diwali. One of the new franchises will be reportedly based in Ahmedabad.

A new team will make the mega auction mandatory. In such a scenario, all the IPL teams will have to release the majority of their players and will have to build their squad from the scratch. Well, the mega auctions have always invited mixed reactions from the franchises and the fans.

Will SRH lose Kane Williamson:

The prospect of seeing their favourite players being released by their franchises have always bothered the fans. One such fan asked SunRisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner whether the franchise would release Kane Williamson ahead of the mega auction.

While Williamson is one of the best batsmen in the world and has also proved himself in the IPL, it won’t be entirely wrong to say that he is still not guaranteed a place in the playing eleven. Last year, he played only 9 games while this year he played 12 games.

Perhaps that was the reason behind the concern of the fan as he wrote: “Sir is that true that next year there will be a mega auction and they saying that there is the chances of loosing @Kane_s_w in SRH team is that true.”

David Warner, however, categorically ruled out the possibility of SRH losing their prized asset. Replying to the fan’s concern, the SRH skipper wrote:

Well, Williamson might not be playing all the games for SRH but he has definitely proved himself in the IPL. In 2018, he had led the team to the final in David Warner’s absence and had finished the tournament as the highest run-scorer. In the recently-concluded IPL 2020 too he proved his worth by scoring fifties in the Eliminator and the second Qualifier.
