The Indian team management backed Rohit to come good and slotted him in the middle-order. It also meant the onus was on Hanuma Vihari to see of the new ball. Vihari received ample support from debutant Mayank Agarwal. Though Vihari could only manage scored of 8 and 13, he ensured stability at the top against the new ball. Mayank on the other hand, fetched runs whenever it was there on offer. The rookie made 76 and 42 in the 3rd Test.
