David Cameron, President of Cricket West Indies (CWI), has shown green signal to the offer of Windies playing a day/night Test against India, a report in The Indian Express suggests.

The news had come just a day after when BCCI announced the venues for the home games of the next season.

Hyderabad and Rajkot will host the two-Test against the Windies, and any one of the two venues will host the historic day/night Test.

As per the reports, Rajkot is the front-runner to host the historic contest.

This venue made its Test debut during team India’s 2016/17 home season when India played England in the first off five-Test match series.

Virat Kohli-led team escaped a defeat in that game where England ran short of time. Hyderabad stadium had hosted a few Test matches with last come coming against Bangladesh during the previous home season. India defeated Bangladesh comfortably in a one-off Test match.

A final decision on India playing Windies in a pink ball Test is subject to a green signal from COA and the players as well.

There are high chances of the team making its pink ball debut this year. It will be first-ever pink ball Test that India will play.

Many of the Indian players have played with the pink ball in Duleep Trophy and for India A, but skipper Virat Kohli hasn’t played any competitive game with a pink ball.

On the other hand, this would be Windies’ fourth Test with the pink ball. They had earlier played against Pakistan and England in pink ball matches, both away.

They will face Sri Lanka in a pink-ball Test in June, which will be their first home day/night game.

Meanwhile, BCCI announced the venues for the next home season as well.

Mumbai, Guwahati, Kochi, Indore and Pune will host five ODIs while Kolkata, Chennai and Kanpur will host three T20Is against Windies.

The next leg of India home season will be against Australia, where they will play five ODIs and two T20Is.

Mohali, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Delhi and Ranchi will host ODIs succeed by two T20Is at Bengaluru and Ranchi.
