Windies vs England 2019: 3rd Test, St Lucia – Day 2 Report; Well, it has been a day for the bowlers in the third and final Test of the series. The day 2 of the game has seen a few scintillating performances from the bowlers, who struck the wicket more often than not. Mark Wood has been the star for England, who picked up his maiden 5-for.

England falters again:

The flamboyant lineup of England once again faltered on Day 2 of the match. From a solid 231/4 on the board to being all-out for 274 runs, Windies made a tremendous comeback into the game. It was the show from Alzarri Joseph and Kemar Roach on the Day 2, which handed hosts an initial advantage.

Kemar Roach finished with 4 wickets to his name while Joseph, Paul and Gabriel picked up 2 wickets each. Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler are the top run-scorers for the team with 67 and 79 runs respectively.

Mark Wood shines to collapse Windies:

Meanwhile, in reply, Windies never looked comfortable in dealing with English bowlers. They have been outsmarted by the brilliance of Wood, who picked up his maiden five-wicket haul. It was not only the fast bowler but also the spinner Moeen Ali did brilliant enough to put hosts on top.

Mark Wood, in his 8.2 over spell rattled five batsmen of Windies while Moeen Ali picked up 4 wickets. Stuart Broad finished with one wicket to fold out Windies to a moderate total of 154 runs on the board. That gave a 123-run lead to the visitors.

Rory Burns-Keaton Jennings played well:

In 2nd innings, the young opening pair Rory Burns and Keaton Jennings played brilliantly to see the remaining 10 tricky overs of the day. They showed their class in defending those overs to end day 2 on a high note for England.
