The Windies were able to level the five-match series after winning the final ODI against England convincingly by seven wickets. The host’s bowlers set up the win as they skittled out the visitors for a paltry score of 113. The young fast bowler Oshane Thomas bowled with fire and scalped a maiden five-wicket haul to breathe down the neck of the English batsmen.

Man of the Match:

Oshane Thomas bowled a brilliant spell of 5-21 to claim his best bowling figures. Thomas bowled with raw pace and England batsmen were left perplexed by his accuracy.

Turning Point of the Match:

It was always going to be a cakewalk for the Windies after they bundled out the visitors for 113. Oshane Thomas rattled England’s middle order and he was right on the money.

Windies talisman opener Chris Gayle continued his assault on England as he batted like he only knows. Gayle who had already knocked two centuries in this series was once again able to hit the ground running. The southpaw blasted 27-ball 77 as he smashed five fours and nine sixes in his blistering knock.

The combative batsman was in the mood and the hosts chased down the target in just 12.1 overs. Mark Wood scalped two wickets but he was on the expensive side.

Chris Gayle was also awarded the Man of the series for scoring 424 runs in four innings. The pugnacious left-hander scored two centuries and two fifties in the series. The Universe Boss scored his runs at an average of 106 and strike rate of 134.17.

Windies vs England 2019: England Innings

England could not get off to a good start as they lost Jonny Bairstow in the third over of the innings. The visitors were pushed on the backfoot as they kept losing their wickets. Oshane Thomas ripped through the middle order as the young fast bowler bowled with fire.

In fact, almost all the England batsmen got off to starts but none of them were able to convert their starts into substantial scores. Carlos Brathwaite and Windies skipper Jason Holder scalped two wickets whereas Sheldon Cottrell took one wicket.

Thus, the Windies were able to tick the right boxes against England. The series ended in 2-2 after the hosts had stunned the tourists in the Test match series by 2-1.
