It was a stunning game of cricket between Windies and England on the other night. Over 800 runs have been scored with three batsmen reaching the 100-run mark. Two of them, Chris Gayle and Jos Buttler even touched 150-run mark in the 4th ODI of the series. Meanwhile, the ecstatic Chris Gayle is thinking about his retirement call, which he recently stated.

It was his second century of a series, amassing 347 runs from three innings at an average of 115.66 and a strike rate of 120.06. He became the 14th batsman and second from the Caribbean after Brian Lara, to reach the milestone of 10,000 ODI runs.

Could I Un-Retire? We will see – Chris Gayle

Exactly, three games after his announcement of retirement plans, Gayle is considering to push himself for a few more games. Gayle quoted that he might un-retire but not sure whether he would take that call or not. After playing a lot of T2o cricket, Gayle felt that he might not suit to ODI format but he had done incredibly well for Windies.

“I think this is one of the most entertaining games I have ever played in. It was a fantastic game of cricket. I have been playing a lot of T20 cricket so it is always going to be a difficult coming back into 50 over cricket. But eventually, the body gets accustomed to the 50-over format. What is the matter with the body? I am nearly 40. But could I un-retire? We will see. We will take it slowly,” ESPNcricinfo quoted Gayle, as saying.

To get the 10,000 run milestone is a great feeling:

During the course of his stunning knock of 162, Chris Gayle crossed the massive milestone of 10,000 ODI runs. He is the second player to do so for Windies after Brian Lara. He expressed his delight to reach the record and termed that it was a special feeling to get for the Windies team.

“I just have to work on the body and then maybe you can see a bit more Chris Gayle, maybe. Things change quickly. Hopefully, the body can change in the next couple of months and we can see what happens. To get the 10,000 run milestone is a great feeling. I have done it in T20 as well. It is a fantastic achievement from my point of view. Doing it for West Indies as well, that makes it even more superb,” he continued.

All in all, it has been a great series so far for the world boss. Hopefully, he will continue the same form for the next 3-4 months in order to make things fall in place for his country. In between, Kings XI Punjab would be happy to see him bashing the bowlers all over the park.
