The Windies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph bowled a peach of a delivery to get rid of England’s captain Joe Root. The ball took off from the length and bamboozled Root who was looking to defend on the front foot. However, the ball took a steep to take the top of the bat handle.

Thus, the ball ballooned to third slip who made a good effort while diving back. However, he could not catch the ball. But Windies talisman batsman Shai Hope who was standing at Gully was alert and moved back to take the catch.

It was an unplayable delivery.

Root was left flabbergasted as he couldn’t have done anything about that delivery. It was an unplayable ball and the England captain had to walk back. Meanwhile, England was skittled out for 187 runs in the first innings after Windies captain Jason Holder won the toss and decided to first.

The hosts are already enjoying the lead of 1-0 in the series after winning the first match by a gargantuan margin of 381 runs. Furthermore, they have put their noses in front once again after dismissing England cheaply.

Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali scored fifties to help their side reach 187 after they had their backs against the wall. England was 93-6 and they were staring down the barrel of the gun. However, Moeen Ali and Ben Foakes were able to add an alliance of 85 runs to keep their side afloat.

Kemar Roach continued his good form as the fast bowler scalped four wickets. Roach had taken a five-wicket haul in the first innings of the first Test match. Shannon Gabriel and Alzarri Joseph scalped three and two wickets respectively. Furthermore, Jason Holder took one wicket. The hosts also didn’t lose any wickets before the end of the opening day’s play.
