Batting first, Nepal got off to a good start adding 49 runs in the powerplays. Skipper Paras Khadka and Gyanendra Malla gave Nepal a blistering start taking on the Qatar bowlers. Khadka was aggressive of the two showing the early impetus, but Imam-ul-Haq got the better of Khadka just at the end of the powerplay. Qatar made full use of the breakthrough and sneaked in consecutive wickets to keep the free flow of runs in check.

Dipendra Singh Airee played a valuable knock of 35 runs from 34 balls to help Nepal cross the 100-run mark. Only one batsman managed to cross the single-digit mark as Iqbal Hossain, Tamoor Sajjad, and Nouman Sardra made things tough for the Nepal batters. Iqbal claimed three while Tamoor and Nouman picked two each to restrict the opponents to 122 runs in their 20 overs.

Chasing 122 runs, Qatar lost Faisal Javed only in the second over with star cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane providing the breakthrough with his first delivery of the match. But Qatar soon took control of the things with Imam-ul-Haq taking the onus on himself. He looked to hold one end tight while Kamran Khan took on the Nepal bowlers. He played a brisk knock of 22 runs from 15 balls and provided the momentum before getting out.
Imam rotated the strike while the odd boundaries came from here and there to take his side home. Although Lamichhane managed to claim two more wickets but was on the expensive side as Qatar took the game home to move to the second spot in the points table. Nouman Sarwar remained unbeaten on 15 runs in the death overs to win the game for his side.
