India ace Ravichandran Ashwin was all praise for his teammate Jasprit  Bumrah after his sensational hat-trick against West Indies. Bumrah became just the third Indian after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan to pick up a Test hat-trick as he destroyed West Indies. By the time the day ended, Bumrah had picked up his second five-wicket haul in the series.

Having taken 5 for 7 in his last outing, Jasprit Bumrah finished day two on 6 for 16 from 9.1 overs. West Indies, on the other hand, were in all sorts of trouble due to Bumrah’s stunning spell. They were reeling at 87 for 7 when the day ended. Earlier in the innings, India were all out for 416. Hanuma Vihari’s maiden Test ton led the charge for India.

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase to claim his hat-trick on day two. He first made Bravo edge one to the slips before Brooks was leg-before. It then required a television review from India captain Virat Kohli to confirm Chase’s dismissal after on-field umpire Paul Reiffel had turned down the lbw appeal.

Before his hat-trick, Jasprit Bumrah had already dismissed John Campbell, Kraigg Brathwaite and West Indies captain Jasprit Bumrah.  Any hope of Bumrah taking all ten wickets in the innings had ended when Mohammed Shami dismissed Shimron Hetmyer.

And as soon as the day came to an end, Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to lavish praise on Bumrah. Ashwin went on to compare Bumrah with the legendary pacers from the Caribbeans as he wrote:

India, meanwhile, are leading the two-match series after winning the first Test by a mammoth 318 runs.
