Star Indian batter Smriti Mandhana who has been in great touch with the bat was picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 3.40 Crores making her the most expensive player in the marquee players set.

The Indian Women’s national side who had a massive win over Pakistan last night in their opening game of the ongoing T20 World Cup were glued to the screens watching the auction as the players celebrated in joy after Smriti Mandhana was roped in by RCB for the record-breaking amount.

Smriti Mandhana has been on a good run with the bat and seemed delighted as her price soared higher and higher with Bangalore ultimately outbidding the other franchises to secure her signing.

The Royal Challengers have done well in the auction so far securing the likes of Renuka Thakur, Sophie Devine, and Ellyse Perry alongside Smriti Mandhana so far in the auction. The side looks solid when it comes to their core batting unit and could emerge as the front runners for the title this season.

It will be interesting to see if any other franchise decides to go far and above for a player of their picking or if Smriti Mandhana emerges as the biggest pick from the auction.
