Gautam Gambhir has started his ‘innings’ in politics on a high after he decimated his opponents in East Delhi by securing almost 7 lakh votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The former cricketer was up against Congress’ Arvinder Singh Lovely and Aam Aadmi party’s Atishi Marlena. In the end, Gambhir beat both of his opponents convincingly as he looks to make a name in politics.

Ever since Gambhir’s stunning win in East Delhi, he has been flooded with congratulatory messages by his former India teammates and other cricketers. The likes of Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, RP Singh and others took to Twitter to wish the World Cup-winning star on his fine start in politics. And the latest cricket stalwart to wish Gambhir is none other than Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj, meanwhile, recently turned up for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.  The southpaw started the IPL on a promising note. In the first game of the season for Mumbai Indians, the southpaw scored a fighting fifty against Delhi Capitals although he could not avoid a defeat for his side. In the following game, he hit three consecutive sixes off Yuzvendra Chahal to show that he still has a lot to offer.

However, his form soon dipped. In the third and fourth game, he managed just 18 and 4 before Mumbai Indians decided to drop him from the playing eleven. Since then Yuvraj did not play a single game as Mumbai Indians went on to win the tournament. According to latest media reports, Yuvraj is now looking to announce his retirement and become a T20 freelancer.
