So while cricket indeed unites different regions of the world, there is no unity when it comes to its name in all those parts. The game is called cricket in most parts of the world but there are few exceptions, and China is one of them.

Recently, former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja interviewed Chinese cricketer Yufie Zhang where he revealed the Chinese name for cricket. The Chinese star, who is currently in UAE for the ongoing Pakistan Super League, revealed that cricket is called Baancho in China.

The name is as funny as it could get and not surprisingly the interview went viral as soon as it was uploaded. Baancho sounds like a typical Punjabi slang, and the fans were left in splits. Well, veteran Indian batsman, Yuvraj Singh is not an exception either. In fact, the Punjab star uploaded the interview video on his Instagram account with a hilarious caption.

“Cricket in Chinese called bancho! ? looks like they called a Punjabi to name it in China ??????,” wrote Yuvraj.

International career:

Meanwhile, Yuvraj’s international career is completely off the track at the moment. The World Cup-winning star had not played for India since the West Indies tour last year. He failed to impress in domestic games and is now gearing up for the Indian Premier League. The 36-year old will play for Kings XI Punjab in the upcoming season.

He recently said that he still has a lot of desire left in him to play the game.

“I want to go when I feel it is the right time to go, when I feel I have done my best and I could not have done any more than this,” Yuvraj had told Sportstar. “I am still playing because I am enjoying playing cricket, not just because I have to play for India or I have to play the IPL. The motivation is definitely to play for India. I feel two or three IPLs are left in me.”
