Yuvraj Singh’s cricket career is nothing less than a typical Bollywood movie. From the highs of winning two World Cups to fighting against cancer, the Indian legend saw it all during his illustrious career. Yuvraj Singh will go down as one of the biggest match-winners for India.

He starred in India’s two biggest wins of the last decade- Word T20 in 2007 and the World Cup in 2011. In the 2007 World T20, he hit Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over during India’s Super 8 match against England. Yuvraj didn’t stop there as he demolished an Australian attack in the semi-final by scoring 70 off just 30 balls. India had gone on to beat Pakistan to lift the trophy.

Four years later, he played a huge role in ending India’s 28-year-long wait for the biggest prize in world cricket – the Cricket World Cup. He scored 362 runs, including a century against the West Indies in Chennai, and picked up 15 wickets to bag the Man of the Tournament award.

But his joy was short-lived as he was diagnosed with a rare germ-cell cancer soon after the World Cup. But the fighter he is, he beat cancer and made a miraculous return to the cricket field. In 2012, he was back to playing for India. Yuvraj, however, never managed to seal his spot in the team after recovering from cancer and retired from all forms of the game last year.

A biopic on Yuvraj Singh could take the box office by storm just like MS Dhoni’s did. There is still no official announcement about it but Yuvraj Singh has already named the actor he would love to see him play the lead role in his biopic. According to a report by Latestly, the 38-year-old was asked who he thinks can portray him the best on-screen and he came up with the name of Siddhant Chaturvedi, who shot to fame after impressing in his Bollywood debut film ‘Gully Boy’.

“Probably, I’d play myself — that would be a bit desperate… (chuckles) hai, na? See, that’s the director’s job to decide. If it’s going to be a Bollywood film, then Siddhant Chaturvedi — the guy who played MC Sher in ‘Gully Boy’ is a good option; I’d love to see him in the film,” said Yuvraj Singh.
