On the auspicious occasion of Mother’s Day, out of favour Indian star middle-order batsman, Yuvraj Singh took to his micro-blogging Twitter handle and thanked his mother, Shabnam Singh, for all the sacrifices she has made in former’s life.

Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam played a huge role in shaping up Yuvraj’s career on the correct path. The southpaw is regarded as one of the most stylish batsmen- to have ever played the game in the gentleman’s game.

However, in the recent times, his form has dipped considerably which has put his place in serious doubts even for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Yuvraj has been in and out of the Kings XI playing XI due to his inconsistency so far in the domestic professional Twenty20 league.

“To my mother and all the lovely mothers around the world who are truly the guiding force behind us all, without whom we wouldn’t be half the people we are today. Happy Mother’s Day,” Yuvraj wrote.

Here’s the Tweet:

The 36-year-old Chandigarh-born Yuvraj has also been out of the national team for quite a long now. He last appeared for India way back in June during a One-day International series in the Windies.

Yuvraj was also part of the 2017 Champions Trophy squad last year. India lost the grand finale of the tournament to arch-rivals Pakistan by 180 runs at the Oval.

The left-handed batsman Yuvraj managed to score a half-century in the first group match against the same opposition on June 4.

However, he failed to make a mark as the tournament progressed.

Yuvraj’s chances in the coming games:

There is no doubt about the fact that Yuvraj is one of the most pleasing batsmen to the eyes when he gets going.

However, one thing is certain. If Yuvraj wants to make another fairytale comeback in the national team, he needs to put in that extra yard.

Well, it will be a difficult prospect for Yuvraj given that age is no more by his side. He will surely want his franchise Kings XI  to lift their maiden IPL title.

Punjab began quite brilliantly in the tournament, but as the tournament has progressed, their form has also faded and with six victories from 11 matches, they still need to win at least a couple of matches to qualify for the playoffs.

Yuvraj Singh will definitely back himself to prove a point if he does get a chance in the coming matches.
