Yuvraj Singh, the discarded Indian National Cricket team all-rounder, has shown some hint of form ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Meanwhile, Yuvraj is currently plying his trade for Air India in the ongoing DY Patil T20 Cup.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj didn’t get any bidder in the first round of the auction held in Jaipur. But Mumbai Indians led by Rohit Sharma roped him at the eleventh hour of the auction at his base price of Rs 1 lakh. The all-rounder had once topped the auctions when Delhi Daredevils bought for Rs 16 Crore in 2015. However, his stocks went down, and in IPL 2018 auction, he got his base price of Rs 2 Crore.
However, Yuvraj Singh has struggled in most of 2018 as he had a lean patch with the bat. But with the IPL 2019 round the corner, the player of the series from 2011 ICC World Cup has stormed back to form. He recently turned out for Air India in the DY Patil T20 Cup and starred with the bat scoring a 57-ball 80 runs knock.
Yuvraj Singh came out to bat after Air India had lost two wickets on a paltry score of 12r runs. The dashing all-rounder shared a 51 run stand for the third wicket with Paul Valthaty before Air India suffered a double blow. Later, he stitched 88-run partnership with Sujit Nayak, carrying his team to a score of 169 for seven at the end of the 20 overs.
However, Yuvraj’s knock went in vain as Mumbai Customs chased down the target in the final over of the match with nine wickets in hand. Vikrant Auti (86* off 52) and Swapnil Pradhan (67* off 53) guided his side to the victory.
