There is absolutely little denying that the fans would love to see Yuvraj Singh in action in next year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). And if Venky Mysore, CEO of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), is to be believed than the former India cricketer could ply his trade for the Kolkata-based franchise. Well, that is what Mysore wrote on Twitter in response to Yuvraj’s comments over the franchise’s decision to release Chris Lynn.

The legendary batman had questioned KKR’s decision of releasing Lynn. Yuvraj Singh’s comment came after Lynn played a whirlwind knock for Maratha Arabians against Team Abu Dhabi in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10. The hard-hitting batsman blasted 91 runs from just 30 balls, just days after being released by KKR. Lynn’s 91-run knock was studded with nine fours and seven sixes.

Following the knock, Yuvraj said he was surprised to see KKR release the batsman. The left-handed batsman, in fact, called the decision a bad one, saying: “He has given some great starts for KKR. I really don’t understand how they did not retain him. I think that’s a bad call. Must send SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) a message on that.”

Well, Mysore did not waste much time in clearing Yuvraj Singh’s confusion as he revealed the reason behind releasing Lynn. In a funny banter, the KKR CEO said that they released Lynn so that they can bid for Yuvraj in the IPL 2020 auctions, writing:

“@YUVSTRONG12 we released @lynny50 so that we could bid for you! ? Love and respect for both of you champions! #IPL2020 #KKR #Legends #Sixhitters @KKRiders”

No hard feelings:

Meanwhile, Lynn has insisted he has no hard feelings over being released by KKR. Lynn did extremely well for the franchise in the last two seasons. In 2018, he scored 491 runs with the help of 3 fifties at a strike-rate of more than 130, helping the Knight Riders make it to the playoffs.  Earlier this year, he was one of Knight Riders’ most consistent batsmen, scoring 405 runs in 13 games with the help of 4 fifties.

“I have got a really good relationship with the KKR owners, support staff, head coach. There are no hard feeling there at all. More important is keeping those relationships nice and strong,” Lynn said after his knock.
