The current red-hot name on the cricketing headlines is the fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who is making waves in International Cricket. After being rested from the shorter formats of the game, the flamboyant cricketer showed his class in the longer version of the game. On every outing, Bumrah displayed his cricketing skills to perfection. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh reveals an interesting story which took place back in 2013.

On Saturday, Bumrah picked up a hat-trick en route his career-best Test haul of 6/27 as the West Indies were bundled out for just 117 in the first innings of the second Test in reply to India’s 416. He became only the third Indian cricketer to achieve the feat. The first duos are Irfan Pathan and Harbhajan Singh.

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has hailed Jasprit Bumrah as a once-in-a-generation bowler and a “cut above the rest” at the moment in international cricket. Yuvraj Singh highlighted that Jasprit Bumrah has been able to shut down his naysayers with the performances that he has been coming up with at the Test arena.

“Bumrah is a class act. He is a once-in-a-generation kind of bowler. I first faced him during a Ranji Trophy game against Gujarat at the PCA Stadium in Mohali in 2013. I played a hostile spell of four overs from him and knew immediately that he was going to be a match-winner for India in Test cricket,” Yuvraj Singh told The Times of India.

“Then, a lot of people questioned whether he would be able to excel in Test cricket because of his unique action. But he has kept his critics quiet with some mesmerizing performances in the past three years, that too in all formats. At present, he is definitely a cut above the rest,” he further added.

Well, as Yuvraj Singh said, Jasprit Bumrah has become a force to reckon with. Bumrah has taken 61 wickets in just 12 Tests and has a 5-wicket haul in each of the overseas nations he has played so far. Bumrah has mastered the art of swing bowling and is being able to trouble opposition batsmen with movement at some serious pace.
