India’s promising leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, is all set to join the Income Tax department as an inspector on his return to the country from South Africa.

The news was confirmed by his father to mid-day.

In fact, his father also revealed an interesting story while confirming the job. He revealed the reason behind Chahal wearing spectacles during fielding as he said,

“His eye sight is not very weak but he was advised to use glasses when he underwent medical tests which were compulsory before taking up his new job as an Income Tax inspector. Yuzvendra will be joining the office in Delhi as soon as he returns from South Africa”, he told the mid-day.

Yuzvendra Chahal has been the star performer for India.

While other players wear stylish glasses while fielding, Chahal has always been spotted with his normal spectacle.

The leg-spinner in Chahal has improved his game leaps and bounds since landing in South Africa. He has not given South Africa an inch to the South African batsmen since he has arrived here. In the ODI series, he bamboozled the hosts and scalped 16 wickets in six ODIs.

Chahal, along with Kuldeep Yadav, scalped 33 wickets in the ODI series to script history. The young duo is yet to establish themselves for the long-run in the international fold, but did wonders in the ODIs.

South African batsmen failed to find an answer to these two and lost the ODI series by 5-1. These two were the key to success for the side with the ball.

In fact, Chahal’s superb bowling has also seen experts backing him to be included in the Test side too.

Yuzvendra Chahal was in contention for the South Africa Test series but the selectors even dropped Kuldeep Yadav, to add an extra pacer.

With him (Chahal) doing wonders on foreign soil, a Test call-up may not be far away. He might be called to the Test side for the historic Afghanistan Test if he continues his form in remaining matches and IPL, leading up to that game.

Or, India might also use him as a surprise factor against England, like the coaching staff did in case of Jasprit Bumrah.

Moreover, Bumrah has given a chance in all the three Test matches against South Africa and was a surprise factor.

Later or sooner, he (Chahal) will surely be included in the Test side and a Test call-up is not far away from him. For now, he is all set to play the last two T20Is against South Africa. In the first game, he was included in the playing XI ahead of Kuldeep Yadav.
