Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday announced the warm-up match between Zimbabwe and BCB XI had been called off, as the visitors couldn’t arrive in Bangladesh within the stipulated time.
Notably, Zimbabwe was expected to land on January 10, and the match was scheduled on January 13.
Incidentally, the tourist first delayed their visit by a day and was set to reach on January 11, but once again changed their plan following some ticketing issues.
“The warm-up game was cancelled as it would not be possible for the visitors to play a match tomorrow [January 13] after arriving in four separate groups,” a BCB spokesperson said to Cricbuzz.
Zimbabwe will now reach Bangladesh on January 12 to take part in the tri-nation series involving Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, commencing from January 15.
