India Tour of Sri Lanka which is scheduled to be held in July later this year has been revised to three ODIs and as many T20Is. Initially, it was reported that the visitors will play three ODIs and five T20Is. However, as per reports in ESPN Cricinfo, the tour itinerary has been rearranged and reworked.
As per SLC’s proposed itinerary to the BCCI, accessed by ESPNcricinfo, the series will commence with the ODIs on July 13, 16, 18 followed by the T20I series on July 21, 23, 25. All the matches will be played at Colombo’s Premadasa stadium.
The series against Sri Lanka will be a perfect opportunity for the players to prepare themselves for the upcoming T20 world cup. As many as six new names have been added to the announced squad. There will be an opportunity for a few to make their ODI to T20I debut for the Men in Blue across the series. Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Krishnappa Gowtham, Chetan Sakariya, Varun Chakravarthy, and Nitish Rana are the new additions to the squad.

Shikhar Dhawan has been announced the captain of the visiting squad while Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been assigned as his deputy. All the regular in the white-ball format are missing with them being involved in a Test series in England at that time.

Sri Lanka’s Squad– Will Update When Available
The three-match ODI series is a part of the 2020–23 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League which is taking place between March 2020 and July 2023. It will serve as a qualification for the 2023 World Cup. Each win in the series consists of 10 points, while there are five points each for a tied game, abandoned, and a no-result game.
The live telecast of the series will be provided by Sony Sports Network in the subcontinent. Sony TEN 1, Sony TEN 3, Sony TEN 4, Sony SIX will telecast the matches live across the country. Live Streaming of the series will be available on the Sony Liv app. Which channel will live telecast the series in Sri Lanka is yet to be announced.
