4. Dinesh Chandimal’s Ball-tampering saga followed by Protest:

Chandimal was found guilty of changing the condition of the ball during the second day’s play of the second Test, which played at Gros Islet against Windies He was given two suspension points and fined 100% of his match fee, the International Cricket Council announced in a statement.

Later, for the same, Sri Lankans took the field after a two-hour delay, “under protest,” after umpires Aleem Dar and Ian Gould asked for the ball to be changed after play on Day Two. Sri Lanka Cricket later released a statement defending its cricketers.

One of the worst controversies in the year was the spat that revolved around Mithali Raj. It was quite surprising to see the whole team management, skipper, the head coach and the higher officials joining together to leave out Mithali from the playing XI.

2. Sandpaper Gate:

Perhaps, this is something, which none of the boards ever ask in any kind of situation. They have lost their precious players and the reputation of the country after their cricketers found guilty of ball-tampering in the weirdest way.

They used sandpaper for tampering the ball and was caught red-handedly on the big screen. Later, Steven Smith and Co admitted their mistake openly with honesty. However, the respective board haven’t convinced with their explanations.

1. Leave India – Virat Kohli to a fan

Well, the comment made by Virat Kohli when he conducted an interaction session was the most viral one during its times. In one of those questions, a fan explained his disliking to Virat Kohli and called Australians and English people bats in a stylish way.

The message did not go down well with Kohli who answered – “I don’t think you should live in India, go and live somewhere else. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don’t mind you not liking me, but I don’t think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right.”

Later, Virat Kohli revealed that he asked the fan to leave, not for disliking him but for degrading Indian players.
