England pacer Mark Wood has left the cricket fans and experts into amusement after his hilarious act in the ongoing Test match between West Indies and England at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

On Day 2, during West Indies’ batting, England Test skipper Joe Root called for a team huddle to discuss their strategy on the pitch. However, Wood was positioned on the opposite side of the field as he was fielding at fine leg.

Wood felt alone after seeing his teammates gather and put arms around each other in the huddle, the Durham pacer made sure that he had his isolated huddle as he stretched his arms to indicate that he was with the team as the part of the huddle.

Once England players dispersed for their fielding positions, Wood cheered them from his fielding position by clapping and clenching both of his fists to encourage the spirit of the team. The incident left commentators on air with laughter.

WI vs ENG: England lead by 109 runs

England were bowled out for 311 as Jonny Bairstow led them with a pulsating 140, laced with 21 boundaries after battling out on the field playing 259 balls. England wicketkeeper-batter Ben Foakes contributed 42 runs and was involved in a 99-run stand with Bairstow for the sixth wicket.

West Indies skipper led from the front scoring 55 from 70 balls before he was caught by Craig Overton off Wood’s bowling to end his well-settled innings. Overton, Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes chipped in with one wicket each as the hosts were reduced to 127 for four down before all-rounder Jason Holder and Nkrumah Bonner revived the innings as England didn’t pick any more wickets at the end of the day.

Holder remained unbeaten on 43, smashing six fours and a six, while Bonner was batting on 34 as West Indies finished at 202/4, still 109 runs behind England’s first innings score.
