Harbhajan Singh Wishes a Rocking Year to Birthday Boy MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni, one of the greatest captains in the history of Indian cricket turned 37 on Saturday.

Dhoni’s record as a batsman and captain has been second to none. A career that started with a duck is now one of the most celebrated one in the history of the gentlemen’s game.

Dhoni did not look back since hitting 148 against Pakistan in just his fifth ODI. It was the precursor of the things that were to follow, as he went on entertain the fans for the years to come. He established himself as one of India’s premier batsman in ODIs. The most memorable moment of Dhoni’s early part of the career arrived in 2007 when he led a bunch of youngsters to the World T20 title in South Africa.

He was soon given the captaincy in all the format, and the rest is all history. Till date, he is the only skipper to have won all the ICC events after leading India to World Cup glory in 2011 followed by the Champions Trophy title in 2013.

He also led the Indian team to the pinnacle of Test cricket in 2009 in addition to winning several historic overseas series.

MS Dhoni’s record as a batsman is equally impressive. He needs only 33 runs to complete 10,000 runs in One-Day Internationals.

In 90 Tests, he scored 4,874 runs before retiring. In T20Is, he has amassed 1,487 runs in 92 outings. On Friday, he also became only the third Indian to play 500 international games.

And as he got one year older, Harbhajan Singh wished him a successful year ahead, tweeting,

“Happy birthday MSD !! Have a rocking year ahead, filled with lots of success, love, sixes and happiness 🙂 See you soon! @msdhoni”

Meanwhile, both Harbhajan and Dhoni played for Chennai Super Kings this year, helping the franchise win the title.
