Despite the emergence of T20 cricket in the last decade or so, Test cricket remains the actual test of players.

However, with the advent of the shortest of game, the fans and the followers of the game are not following the Tests to a great extent. The foremost reason is obviously time but if not for the emergence of T20 cricket had Test cricket taken such a huge back seat like what it has become today.

It is a shame when we find empty seats all over the stadium during a top class international Test match. However, we have to accept the fact that to reduce time, we have to curb the format and thus minimising it to 20 overs. But have you ever thought of a T20 cricket getting played in a Test format? If you haven’t, then its time that some innovative ideas come out from your mind.

Just a few days earlier, the revolution of cricket reached a new high when the shortest of shortest format got introduced with the first game of the inaugural Global T10 League getting played in UAE. Many retired and current stars are fighting it out in the tournament. Just like T20 cricket, the crowd for the tournament was fantastic which has also enthralled the players who had come out from their retirement to play in the League.

Keeping T10 cricket and Test cricket in mind, former Pakistan skipper Waqar Younis came up with an interesting idea. It might not be feasible in the recent past, but in the world of innovation, the change might well be the way forward.

Taking to his twitter handle Waqar wrote,

“To feed my love of Test cricket and to build on this T10 initiative, how about T10 matches in Test format? Two innings, ten overs each with leads/trails, follow-on, etc. Innovation & change is the only way forward in this world. Thoughts?”
