Dwaine Pretorius played the role of the designated death-over bowler in South Africa’s bowling attack. And there is no denying that he stood up to the task quite well. Pretorius varied his lengths brilliantly and that kept the batsmen guessing.
Despite bowling most of his overs at the death, Pretorius gave away runs at less than 7 an over. He finished with 9 wickets in 5 matches and gave South Africa the best chance to reach the semis. His average of 11.22 is the best amongst all his allies in the team, which tells you how effective he was throughout the tournament.
