England and South Africa are set to take on each other in the 39th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 on Saturday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. England are sitting on the top of the table in Group 1 with 4 wins in 4 matches.

They will be playing their last game of the Super 12 stage and would want to finish the round on a winning note. England have already qualified for the semi-finals but they would be wanting to finish the super 12 stage at the number one position in group 1.

Eoin Morgan and Co. are coming into the game on the back of a 26-run win over Sri Lanka. Jos Buttler starred with the bat as he scored his maiden century in the tournament. Eoin Morgan also returned to form with a valiant 36-ball 40.

Courtesy of those valuable contributions, England finished their innings at 163 runs. Sri Lanka, in reply, were bundled out for just 137 runs, thanks to a clinical display from England’s bowling unit. The likes of Adil Rashid, Chris Jordan, and Moeen Ali all picked three wickets each.

South Africa, on the other hand, are also in outstanding form. After suffering a defeat against Australia in their first game of the tournament, Bavuma and Co. went on to register three consecutive wins. Thanks to those three wins, the Proteas find themselves at number three on the points table with 6 points.

For them to reach the semi-finals, they have to win the game against England on Friday with a significant margin. Having said that, a lot depends on the result of Australia’s last game against the West Indies.

South Africa played their last game against Bangladesh. The likes of Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Shamsi picked 8 wickets between each other, helping South Africa bundle out Bangladesh for just 84 runs. Temba Bavuma and Men chased down the score in 13.3 overs.
