IND vs PAK: 3 Indian Players Whose T20 Career Might Finish After A Poor Performance Against Pakistan. India will be facing their arch-rivals Pakistan in their first game of the T20 World Cup 2021 campaign and it is expected to be a blockbuster of a game. India will be going into the T20 World Cup with one of their strongest squads and they do have some X factor players in the squad that has missed in the past ICC tournaments.

The experience in the squad is pretty good as well and it makes it tough for India to choose the playing XI for the first game. There are a lot of players in form at the moment and it indeed is a good headache to have. India tried out every player in the 15 member squad in the warm-up games and presented opportunities to them. Here are 3 Indian players whose T20 career might finish after a poor performance against Pakistan.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the surprising names in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2021 but India needed an off-spinner in the squad with Washington Sundar injured. Ashwin is 35 years old at the moment and his fitness levels aren’t the best as well considering his movements in the field.

Ashwin did well in the first two warm-up games against England and Australia and bowled very economically conceding less than 6 runs per over in both games. Ashwin is unlikely to feature in the playing XI but if he does get a chance against Pakistan and doesn’t perform well, it might be curtains for the off-spinner in limited-overs cricket.

Hardik Pandya:

Hardik Pandya has not been in the best of forms in recent times and the fact that he is not bowling makes it difficult to select him in the playing XI. However, Hardik is a match-winner with the bat and hence he will be preferred in the lineup as a number six finisher even if he isn’t bowling.

Hardik will have to definitely get some runs in his bank in the game against Pakistan as Ishan Kishan has been brilliant with the bat and he has been fighting for a spot in the playing XI. If Hardik fails in the game against Pakistan, India might consider bringing in Ishan Kishan with his current form and or even try out Ravindra Jadeja at six so that India will need the sixth bowler option.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been struggling to pick up wickets with the new ball off-late and he had a very poor outing against England in the warm-up fixture. Bhuvneshwar Kumar did not have a good IPL 2021 season for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and ended up getting just 6 wickets from 11 games which is definitely a big question mark.

With Deepak Chahar providing the same impact with the new ball and with his ability to bat down the order, Bhuvneshwar Kumar might soon miss out on the squad if his form isn’t improving. Pakistan will be a big test to him as Shardul Thakur and Mohammad Shami fight for a spot in the Indian playing XI.
