Australian pace bowler Pat Cummins termed the match against England as an extremely crucial one as it could well decide how quickly they can make it to the semifinals of the ongoing T20 World Cup.

Both teams are undefeated in the tournament so far, having registered two wins each. A win here could potentially book a berth in the semis, something that Cummins pointed out as well.

They’ve been probably just about the form team the last few years in white-ball cricket. We know these guys really well. We know it’s such a big game in the context of making the semifinals and always enjoy coming up against England.

“There are a few players that will be coming out this summer from this side [for The Ashes], so it would be great to get one on board against them early,” Cummins was quoted as saying in an official ICC release.

Pat Cummins also stated that the dressing room atmosphere is one that’s brimming with confidence since almost every player has had meaningful contributions so far in the tournament. Everybody has come to the party, which bodes well for the Aussies heading into the latter stages of the World Cup.

I think another great thing about those first two games is it feels like everyone in the XI has played a huge role. Just about everyone has fired and is riding high on confidence. It feels like it’s all coming together,” Cummins added.
