OMN vs BAN Live Streaming Details- When And Where To Watch Oman vs Bangladesh Live In Your Country? Match 6. Oman will play against Bangladesh in the sixth match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 on Tuesday at Al Amerat Cricket Ground.
Both teams have played one match each in the tournament. Oman have begun their campaign with a morale-boosting win against Papua New Guinea. The bowlers restricted Papua New Guinea to just 129 runs in the first innings. Bilal Khan and Kaleemullah sent both the openers back to the hut without opening their account.
Oman couldn’t pick a single wicket in the next 10 overs as Assad Vala and Charles Amini made a handsome recovery. The former’s wicket, however, in the 12th over, once again, turned the tide in the favour of Oman as wickets kept falling at regular intervals thereafter. Kaleemullah sent back Assad Vala in the 15th over and what was followed was a superlative spell from Zeeshan Maqsood.
He picked three wickets in a single over to reduce Papua New Guinea from 112/4 to 113/7. Zeeshan’s spell helped the team reduce the opposition to only 129 for 9 in 20 overs. Zeeshan Maqsood finished his spell with 4 for 20 in 4 overs, while Bilal Khan and Kaleemullah picked two wickets each. Oman chased down the score in just 13.4 overs, thanks to a brilliant opening partnership between Aqib Ilyas and Jatinder Singh, who remained unbeaten at 50 (43) and 73 (42) respectively.
Facing them are Bangladesh, who lost its first game at the hands of Scotland. The Tigers wouldn’t have expected to start their campaign in this fashion. Another loss in the next game could dampen their hopes of reaching the next round. It would be hard for them to believe that they lost their last game after reducing Scotland to 53 for 6 inside 12 overs in the first innings.
But one good partnership took the game away from them. Chris Greaves and Mark Watt added 51 runs for the seventh wicket to help the team reach a competitive score of 140 runs in the first innings. The spin duo of Shakib Al Hasan (2 for 17) and Mehidy Hasan (3 for 19) kept the batsmen guessing with his guile and turn. But the facer erred in their lengths quite often and as a result, were smashed for boundaries in the latter half of the innings.
Bangladesh didn’t start well with the bat either, having lost both the openers for just 8 runs inside the first 4 overs. The experienced duo of Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim tried to rebuild the innings and ensured Bangladesh don’t lose a wicket till the first half of the innings. They, however, found it difficult to score runs freely and the pressure to keep up with the required rate kept creeping up.
In a bid to hit the big shots, both Shakib Al Hasan (20 off 28) and Mushfiqur (38 off 36) got out at crucial stages in the game. Mahmudullah (23 off 22) tried his best to achieve the target but the required rate forced him to play one shot too many. In the end, Bangladesh fell 6 runs short of the target.
