New Zealand will play against Pakistan in the 19th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 on Tuesday. Blackcaps are slated to face a team who is coming off a sensational 10-wicket win over India and they would vary of that. Kane Williamson and Co. are coming into the game on the back of defeats in the two warm-up fixtures.

Though, it could be argued that they were giving enough game time to all the players and also looked to shortlist their best possible eleven.

New Zealand played their last warm-up fixture against England, which they went on to lose by 13 runs. Barring Ish Sodhi and Lockie Ferguson, all the bowlers proved expensive as England notched 163 runs in the first innings. Ish Sodhi was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 for 26 in 4 overs.

Martin Guptill gave the team a solid start with a blistering 20-ball 41. However, wickets kept falling at the other end at regular intervals. None of the batsmen, barring Martin Guptill, stepped up with the bat as New Zealand managed 150 in the second innings. With the batting unit not making great returns, it will be interesting to see who will be the playing XI for the important encounter.

Pakistan, on the other hand, would be riding high on confidence. They are coming into the game on the back of an outstanding 10-wicket win over India. Shaheen Shah Afridi starred with the ball for the Men in Green. There was some swing in the initial few overs of the first innings and the Pakistan seamers made full use of that. He bowled two sensational deliveries to send both KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma back to the hut to leave India reeling at 6 for 2.

While Virat Kohli held firm at one end, wickets kept falling at the other end and it didn’t allow India to change gears. Shadab Khan was brilliant with his variations in the middle overs as he gave away just 22 runs in his four overs, including the prized wicket of Rishabh Pant.

Add to that, Haris Rauf was equally brilliant in the latter half of the innings. He bowled all his four overs in the second half of India’s innings and yet gave away just 25 runs for 1 wicket in his four-over spell. India managed 151 runs in the first innings and Pakistan chased down the total without losing a single wicket.

M Rizwan and Babar Azam remained unbeaten at 79(55) and 68 (52) respectively. The duo chased down the score in just 17.5 overs.

The slow and sluggish track at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium has proved to be a nightmare for the batsmen. The bowlers have enjoyed bowling here.

The batsmen of both teams would look to make a great start in the powerplay. The pitch is likely to slow down as the game progresses which makes it harder for the batsmen.

Anything between 140 and 160 is a par score here. Both the teams would look to bowl first upon winning the toss, keeping the duo factor in mind.

Average 1st Inns scores 141
Average 2nd Inns scores 125

The temperature here will be hot and humid. The conditions here should suggest that there is no possibility of rain. One could expect a good game of cricket. The average temperature will hover around 42-degree Celsius.
