The 21st match of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will have Namibia take on Scotland at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. Namibia would be proud of the way that they have played in the tournament thus far.

They didn’t start the tournament on a great note, having suffered a 7-wicket defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka. However, they made a dramatic turnaround as they went on to win their next two matches to seal a berth in the Super 12s.

Namibia earned their first win of the ICC T20 World Cup against the Netherlands by 6 wickets, thanks to a blistering 66-run knock from David Wiese. This was followed by a do-or-die match victory over Ireland by 8 wickets.

Namibia bowled great lengths and didn’t allow Ireland to score runs easily in the first innings. Jan Frylinck picked three wickets, while David Wiese picked two wickets as Ireland were restricted to just 125 runs in the first innings.

Gerhard Erasmus then scored a match-winning half-century to help Namibia earn their second consecutive win of the tournament. David Wiese too made a valuable contribution of 28 runs off just 14 deliveries. Namibia will be playing their first game of the Super 12 round on Wednesday against Scotland. They would look to start their Super 12 campaign with a win.

On the other hand, Scotland are coming off a humiliating 130-run defeat at the hands of Afghanistan. Scotland won all three games in the first round to qualify for the Super 12 stage. However, a high-flying Scotland was brought down to the target by Afghanistan on Monday.

Riding on significant contributions from the top-four, Afghanistan notched a mammoth 190-run total in the first innings. Mark Watt and Safyaan Sharif looked decent with the ball, however, all the other bowlers went for more than 10 runs an over.

Sharif picked 3 for 44 in 4 overs, while Watt returned with impressive figures of 1 for 23 in 4 overs. Scotland needed a good start to chase down the score. Munsey and Kyle Coetzer made a decent start but once the latter departed, wickets fell in a cluster.

Scotland as a result were bundled out for just 60 runs, thereby losing the game by a massive 130 runs. Their best bet in the batting department, George Munsey, once again, failed to convert a decent start into a big score. Nevertheless, he top scored for the side with 25 runs in 18 balls.
