Former Australia spinner Shane Warne has picked his teams to reach the knockout stages – two semi-finals and the final – of the ongoing T20 World Cup in the UAE.

By Saturday night, when Shane Warne made his predictions, all the teams in Group 1 have played 3 games each while in Group 2 only Pakistan have played 3 matches – and they have won all three.

Shane Warne believes England will top the Group 1 – they are leading it currently with 6 points in 3 matches – followed by Australia, who have won 2 games out of 3 so far. South Africa, who also have 2 out of 3 matches, are currently placed second in Group 1 after Australia’s net run rate dipped significantly after suffering a massive loss to England.

From Group 2, the legendary leg-spinner has picked Pakistan to emerge as the group toppers, alongside India at the second position. Virat Kohli’s side have only played one game, so has Kane Williamson’s team. They both meet on Sunday evening.

This would then set up for an England-India semi-final and a Pakistan-Australia semi-final.

“I still believe the teams that will top each group & make it through will look like this, plus semi’s & final… 1.England 2. Australia 1.Pakistan 2. India Semi’s Eng V India Aust V Pak,” Shane Warne tweeted.

Then, between the two semi-finals, the 52-year-old reckons either one of the two world-renowned arch-rivalry could be witnessed in the final: Shane Warne feels the world will see either an India-Pakistan final or will see England take on Australia. The final is scheduled for November 14, Sunday, in Dubai.

“So final will be either India V Pak or Aust V England,” he added.
