After that Kusal Perera who was having a very poor run in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 finally looked in good touch and scored a good 35 runs off 25 balls including 4 boundaries and one maximum but was unable to survive the deadly yorker of Mitchell Starc and was dismissed in the 11th over. Hasaranga also dismissed Glenn Maxwell in the 9th over but on one end David Warner looked unstoppable. However, Captain Dasun Shanaka took the responsibility to send Warner back to the dugout in the 15th over but the damage was already done as the veteran opener scored 65 runs off just 42 deliveries.
