After Pakistan defeated India in their opening game of ICC T20 World Cup 2021, Babar Azam’s father broke into tears. Babar Azam played a match-winning knock with Mohammad Rizwan to bag a 10-wicket victory over India. With the victory, Pakistan also broke the jinx of losing to India in World Cup tournaments.

Chasing a 152-run target, Pakistan opener Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan played spectacular knocks against India. They made a 152-run stand for the opening wicket to win the match by 10 wickets in just 17.5 overs. Rizwan smacked 79 while Azam hit 68. Indian bowlers were completely outplayed by the smart batting of both the Pakistani batsmen.

After watching his son’s marvellous batting and Pakistan’s victory, Babar Azam’s father broke into tears. He was watching the match from the stands at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. After watching skipper Babar Azam leading Pakistan to victory against India, he got too emotional.

Shaheed Afridi Crushed Indian Openers

Batting first in the match, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were dismissed by Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi in the first 2 overs. Sharma got out for a duck while Rahul hit 3 runs. Later, Virat Kohli hit a half-century (57) while Rishabh Pant scored 39 off 30.

However, Pakistan managed to pick wickets at regular intervals and kept India under pressure. In the end, India could only manage 151-7 on the scoreboard. Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi bagged 3 crucial wickets of KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. For his incredible bowling attack, he was awarded player of the match.

Now, India will face New Zealand in their next encounter of ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The India vs New Zealand clash will take place on October 31. With a victory against India, Pakistan have moved to the top spot in group 2 points table with 2 points.
