New Zealand take on Australia in the first Super 12 match of the T20 World Cup in Sydney on October 2022. Australia are the host of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Hence, all the matches will take place at different stadiums spread across Australia. Australia are also the defending champions of the tournament who defeated New Zealand in the last year’s T20 World Cup final.

The Kiwis have an eye for revenge in their very first game of this World Cup campaign. The finalists of the tournament 12 months earlier have a well-rounded team who can go all the way to lift the title. They will be missing Daryl Mitchell in the first game against the Aussies after he fractured his finger at practice. Head coach Gary Stead said that he will be back for the side’s second game against Afghanistan.

They did not have an ideal preparation for the two warm-up games they were scheduled to play. They lost the first against the Proteas in which the side was bowled out for just 98. The second against India was cancelled due to rain. Meanwhile, in this article, we take a look at their probable playing XI for their Super 12 clash against India.
