Best South Africa Playing XI For ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Cricket South Africa named their squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 which is going to take place in Australia.

Middle-order batter Rassie van der Dussen is still struggling with his finger injury and keeping in mind, South Africa management has not included him in the T20 World Cup squad. On the other end, Temba Bavuma has recuperated completely from the elbow injury and is ready to lead the Proteas in the second World Cup in a row.

He also played seven Tests and three ODIs for South Africa.

South Africa will play against the Group B winner on  24th October at Hobart, against Bangladesh on 27th October at Sydney, against India on 30th October at Perth, against Pakistan on 3rd November at Sydney and against Group A Runners up on 6th November at Adelaide.

South African captain Temba Bavuma got injured during the Proteas’ last India tour in June 2022 managing just 61 runs in 4 T20Is averaging 20.33. He retired hurt after scoring 8* in the 4th T20I and didn’t play subsequent England and Ireland T20Is. In the ongoing tour, he managed only 3 runs in as many T20Is after being dismissed without scoring in the first two matches.

Aiden Markram is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-break bowler from South Africa. Aiden Markram scored 25 in the 1st T20I and helped his team recover from 9/5. He didn’t bat in the 3rd while scoring 33 in the 2nd T20I. In the previous 2021 T20I World cup, he amassed 162 runs averaging 54.

Reeza Hendricks

Reeza Hendricks warmed the bench in all 3 T20Is in the ongoing India tour. Reeza Hendricks scored 57, 53, 70 (against England) before his 74 and 42 (against Ireland). He was the leading run-getter against England, amassing 180 runs in 3 T20Is averaging 60. He amassed 116 runs in 2 T20Is averaging 58 in 2 T20Is against Ireland.

There will be high hopes from David Miller following his exploits for the Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2022. The attacking left-hander displayed a different kind of maturity, smashing 481 runs in 16 matches at a strike rate of 142.73. He managed 96 runs averaging 48 in 5 T20Is in June 2022 against India.

David Miller scored an unbeaten 106 in the 2nd T20I which went in vain after being dismissed without scoring in the opening T20I. He scored an unbeaten 19 off 5 balls including 3 sixes in the 3rd T20I, at a strike rate of 380. He was the 2nd highest scorer in the preceding T20I series, amassing 125 runs at a stunning strike rate of 235.85.

Heinrich Klaasen will fight for a place in the playing XI with the likes of Rilee Rossouw and Tristan Stubbs. While Heinrich Klaasen didn’t feature in the T20Is against India, Rilee Rossouw scored a ton in the last T20I- his career-best score of 100* after scoring ducks in the first two T20Is.

On the other hand, Tristan Stubbs is relatively new and has featured in only 9 T20Is, but has 1 fifty to his name and a stunning strike rate of 191.89.

Wayne Parnell

Keshav Maharaj scored 41 in the first T20I in the preceding T20I series against India and picked 2/23 and 2/34 in the next two T20Is after getting hammered in the 1st T20I (0/21 in 3 overs).

On a night when the rest of South Africa’s attack combined to concede 210 off 96 wicketless balls, and on a pitch where 458 runs came in 40 overs, Keshav Maharaj bowled 24 balls, gave away 23 runs, and took two wickets. I1ndia scored 237/3 in the 2nd T20I before South Africa scored 221/3, falling short by 16 runs.

Lungi Ngidi

Lungi Ngidi picked 2 scalps in as many T20Is in the T20I series against India. He averages less than 20 in T20Is, but didn’t feature in the 2021 T20I World Cup. His career best of 5/39 came against England in a July 2022 T20I.

Another option is seam-bowling allrounder Andile Phehlukwayo who made himself a part of South Africa’s white-ball sides with his skill at the death, the ability to disguise his slower ball, and the ability to contribute with the bat as a finisher.

Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada will be South Africa’s pace spearhead in the upcoming series against India. He had a memorable IPL 2022 campaign for the Punjab Kings (PBKS). He was the third-leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 23 wickets in 13 games at a strike rate of 12.52.

He was predicted to be key to the Proteas’ fortunes in the T20I series but picked only 2 scalps and went for plenty (0/57) in the 2nd T20I but was economical in the other two matches (1/16 in 1st T20I and 1/24 in 3rd T20I).

Tabraiz Shamsi

Tabraiz Shamsi is a genuine wicket-taker, as his record proves. His career-best figures of 5/28 came against England where he picked 8 scalps in 3 T20Is averaging 12.5. He played only 1 T20I against India where he went wicketless conceding 27 runs in 2.4 overs.
