England takes on New Zealand in their penultimate Super 12 game at the Gabba on November 1. So far England has played three games won one and lost one. Their previous match against Australia was rained out. The Kiwis, on the other hand, are still unbeaten in the tournament so far having won two out of three games. They had a game that rained out as well.

The super 12 round began on October 22 with the first match between Australia and New Zealand- the finalists of last year’s T20 World Cup. A total of 45 matches will take place during ICC T20 World Cup 2022. A total of 16 teams are part of the tournament. The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 final will be played on November 13.

England skipper Jos Butler was very disappointed with their previous rained-out game against Australia. Though they are second on the points table, this is a must-win game for them in many ways.

“Really disappointing the other night especially when we had the majority of things in our favor. We don’t become a bad team overnight. We are full of match-winners. Looking forward to the rest of the tournament. The guys are rested up well and we were ready to play tonight as well. A few days now to clear everything out, have a couple of good training days and then look forward to the next game” Buttler said after the rained-out game against Australia.

A win will propel them to the top while a loss might get them down the ladder. So thus there is everything to play for when England takes on New Zealand.

They have a strong team with players in form. Jos Buttler would ideally love to get a big score under his belt and make it easier for their pacers to unleash their pace on the Kiwis. Mark Wood has consistently clocked over 150 kmph which has been a feature of the England attack so far. They have an experienced side and would like o get their act together against the Kiwis.

New Zealand is topping Group 1 on the back of two big victories. They won by 89 runs against Sri Lanka and by 65 runs against Sri Lanka. In the two games that they won so far, they have found a batter who has scored big. Against Australia, it was Devon Conway while against Sri Lanka it was Glenn Phillips.

They would ideally like Phillips to repeat his performance against the mighty England side. Kane Williamson for his liking would love to contribute and get his team a substantial total for their bowlers to get into the game.

With three pacers and two spinners, the Kiwis have one of the most potent bowling attacks in this tournament. They should be able to defend a score of around 160 which has been the winning total so far in this tournament.
