England Cricket Team would be booming with confidence after winning the T20 World Cup for 2nd time. The team showed great intent and displayed never to say die attitude. Ben Stokes proved to be the lightning spark for the team as his unbeaten knock of 52 runs in 49 balls proved to be decisive.

It didn’t look like Jos Buttler was captaining the side for the first time in an ICC event. Buttler’s knock in the semi-final was quite invaluable as he decimated the Indian Bowling attack. The skipper was always behind the bowler and him along with Moeen Ali was guiding the team in tough situations as the duo was seen having a lot of conversations.

Ben Stokes Invaluable

The dangerous all-rounder has a unique ability to play the waiting game. Even in a challenging total of 138 runs, the batter didn’t panic even after playing a string of dot balls which says a lot about his temperament. Skipper Jos Buttler gave him the new ball proved to be quite surprising for the opponent teams. The all-rounder was quite acrobatic on the field and was a team player in the victorious triumph for England.

The all-rounder’s decision to resign from ODI Cricket was shocking with the ODI World Cup scheduled in 2023. We all know that there is non-stop cricket action and in that, there are leagues too. In all these chaos, the board has to intervene and make sure that the players are getting ample rest. Stokes’ said in a statement that 3 formats are not sustainable for him and prioritized Test cricket. It would be interesting to see whether Stokes’ comes out of ODI retirement as having him in the setup would be priceless for England’s title defense in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
