ICC T20 World Cup 2022: "Jasprit Bumrah Will Be The Difference Between India Going Far And Winning T20 World Cup": Brett Lee

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury has been the talking point. The right-arm pacer is an integral part of the team as his presence is enough to disturb the opposition. There is still uncertainty regarding Bumrah’s injury as currently, he is in NCA working on his injury for the participation in ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

Bumrah is someone who can rattle any opposition on a given day as he has a lot of variations. The right-arm pacer knows how to fox the batters which is his stand-out ability. The management & BCCI is quite hopeful that he will make the cut as he can guide Arshdeep & Harshal in crunch situations.

Brett Lee on Jasprit Bumrah

Bret Lee was seen in Legends League Cricket and was asked about Jasprit Bumrah. “That (speculation) can go a long way but I think if they have to win, they have to win with Bumrah. He is the key, in my opinion. I hope he gets back as soon as possible. I really hope that the injury can heal itself quickly. He will get the best treatment, best management.”

“He is a terrific fellow, a world-class bowler. His yorkers at the death will be the difference between India going far and India winning the World Cup,” he added.

Conundrum for Management

The management will have to look for replacements immediately and make them ready. The likes of Shami or Chahar would most probably get included in the squad if Bumrah’s injury isn’t recovered. Most likely India will have to play with 4 seamers as spin won’t be a huge factor in Australia apart from a few grounds.

The duo Rohit Sharma & Rahul Dravid would be bothered as earlier they were dealt with a huge blow of Jadeja’s injury and now Bumrah.

There’s no doubt India has got a huge pool of players but the players can’t be rushed to the ICC tournament immediately. It would be interesting to see what happens with Bumrah as the entire billion people are awaiting his update and praying for his speedy recovery.
