The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 has reached the business stage, and teams are working hard to put on their best performance and earn a spot in the next round.

Indian vice-captain KL Rahul has been struggling to score runs for India at the top of the order and has scored just 22 runs from three games in the tournament so far. The right-hander scored 4, 9, and 9 in his three outings against Pakistan, the Netherlands, and South Africa, respectively.

Former Zimbabwe wicketkeeper batsman Andy Flower said that it’s absolutely right to back KL Rahul, and they’re backing him. He added that you don’t want to make too many changes in a dressing room during an important tournament.

It’s Absolutely Right That They’re Backing Kl Rahul – Andy Flower

“Well, as we know, KL (Rahul) is a really calm guy. He’s got a lovely, calm demeanor about him. And I would imagine that will be serving him really well. Yes, we’ve seen a reaction from him occasionally where he indicates that he’s been blocking out the media noise, and that’s a mental and emotional tactic or skill that’s really important, especially in these days with the amount of noise that you get on social media, which the players, which all the players, use quite significantly for various reasons.”

“So, it’s really important that he relies on that, on that skill that he’s built up over the years. I think it’s absolutely right that they’re backing him. You don’t want to make too many changes in a dressing room during an important tournament like this. So the rest of the dressing room seeing KL getting backed through a slightly lean, little period is a really good message to send the dressing room.”

KL Rahul returned to form with a brilliant 32-ball 50 in the T20 World Cup match against Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday, November 2.
